I acquired this car in 1998 from a
family in Fremont, CA. The car had originally been sold
at Central Chevrolet in Fremont. It was built in
southern California and I believe it spent it's entire
life in the San Francisco bay area until I moved it to
Washington with me in 2003. It's painted in the original
Dusk Pearl and Imperial Ivory.
The car originally had a 283 with a two barrel carburetor and a Powerglide automatic transmission. It now has 300 hp 350 crate motor with an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum manifold and matching Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor. Headers are Sanderson 3/4 style tube headers. The transmission is a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 automatic with a Hurst Pro-Matic shifter. The rear axle is the stock unit. The front spindles have been replaced with 2" dropped spindles and the standard front drum brakes were upgraded to disc brakes at the same time. Rear suspension and brakes are stock. The wheels are chrome reversed wheels with chrome baby moon hubcaps. The interior has front bucket seats from a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am and the original rear seat, all reupholstered in grey and black velour. The gauges have been replaced with Autometer Ultra white face gauges mounted in the original dash housing. The stereo is a Custom Autosound unit that fits into the original dash mount. |
