Dave & Patty Aamodt’s ’55 Handyman Special

New member, Dave Aamodt’s comments on his 55:

I’d been looking for a Handyman for about six months.  I had an ad on Craiglists up and down the West Coast, plus in Minnesota, where my wife and I are from.  The owner of this ’55 saw my ad and responded to me.  He said he has two ’55 Chevy 210’s for sale, one a wagon, the other a sedan.  Said his new passion is airplanes, thus both cars are for sale.  He told me he built this car in his shop…he also said that he has $60,000 in the built…I bought it for $41k, ,plus $2,000 for shipping.  It seems to be by far the nicest one I have looked at.  I had my brother back in Minnesota check it out and drive it.  He said it was a great value at $41K…so, we moved on buying it.  When we moved from Minnesota back in 1987, I left my ’55 Nomad there, and a friend of my brother owns it now.  I found out that NOMADS are no longer in my budget.  They seem to start around $75K…so that’s when I started to search for a Handyman.  I’m excited that it should arrive soon.
